Transforming through innovation and collaboration

There’s no escaping the fact that mobile technology - or mobility - has become a part of everyday life for most people. And for Police in Wales, things are no different.

Welsh police are transforming the way they work through innovation

Gwent and South Wales police forces are working together in developing a mobile app that increases efficiency through the recording of audio / visual statements while out on the beat. These can then be shared and accessed by other officers across the forces.

Meanwhile, in North Wales, there are plans to supply officers with body mounted cameras - another example of emerging technology that is transforming the workplace.

Technology is everywhere, and that can only be a good thing, if - just like in the Welsh police forces - service organisations gain from innovations in technology. These can bring savings through efficiency, boost workforce effectiveness and increase customer satisfaction. In this case, by allowing members of the public to monitor progress of criminal reports.
